Do not use on hybrid SACDs made by Sonopress.
All other SACDs are okay!
SACD's actually benefit more than other formats because SACDs
are more sensitive to jitter. You can identify SONOPRESS
SACDs by a marking around the inner spindle circumference.
Auric Illuminator is not compatible with early made hybrid SACDs
made by Sonopress. You can identify SONOPRESS SACDs by a marking
around the inner spindle circumference.
As of May 2003 Sonopress states "now we are using other materials
and it is no longer necessary to have a special frontcoating. These
discs have no sticker (warning against topical treatments) and
you can clean the laserentry side carefully with special liquids
like a normal CD." Therefore it is safe to apply Auric
Illuminator to new Sonopress SACDs.
In the event Auric Illuminator has been applied
to a Sonopress hybrid SACD read instructions below.
If a Sonopress hybrid disc has been damaged, it can be corrected
by polishing the playing surface with "Fine Scratch Remover"
found in the CD Repair Kit (42-149), sold at Radio Shack. This
polish removes the incompatible silica dioxide layer and any damage
that may have occurred. Auric Illuminator can then be safely applied
to the disc.
